Noche #4: A hoot. Plain a simple.

Tonight my whole group decided to meet at the Plaza de Cervantes to go visit the bars and clubs around town and see what they were like. I was only intending to meet up with Megan, but she was a little late and everybody else was there, so I followed along like a little lost duckling until Megan called me to tell me she'd arrived at el centro. Some of the others in my group are much friendlier than I gave them credit for, so that was a lovely realization, but the real fun commenced when Megan arrived. :o) We went as a group to Pinta something, Manamana and Cancan... the three bars/clubs that are the most popular in Alcala. The first one was like a pub while the other two were clubs, but they were not nearly as cool as Plan B -- they were mostly just places where you could buy cheap enough drinks and dance to American music that was about a year or two outdated. :)

Megan and I sat and drank our double bubble lemonade and vodkas and watched the Americans from the other groups make a fool of themselves. Needless to say, we had a blast. We got so caught up in watching that we didn't realize our group had already left! We tried calling them but to no avail, so being the smart chicas we are, we decided to try to walk home. Megan asked a million people for directions, but all of them told us we were nuts for trying to walk to our neighborhood... After going through a shady tunnel we finally gave up and called a taxi, which was there in about 30 seconds -- it was basically magical!! The poor cab driver probably thought we were insanely stupid americans, 'cause we didn't quite know our addresses nor how to guide him in the general correct direction, but nine euros later we were both at our respective houses at 3 am!!!

So yeah -- as it turns out, going out in Alcala is the best -- you just have to go out with the right person and get lost at 2:30 am in the middle of the city!! ;o)

We stopped to take a picture to demonstrate just HOW MUCH of a SHIT SHOW we were on our attempted walk home... it's pretty scary... prepare yourselves... I kinda look like the Joker from The Dark Knight... but we were too damn giggly to try to take a better picture!!! ^_^ HAHA. And yes, I did wet my pants just a small bit -- but so worth it.

Bed time! Exciting Madrid adventures to commence tomorrow!!!
